Hi! My name is Joyce Li (Kai Li). I never had the chance to know what psychotherapy is when I grew up but I have always been intrigued by human mind and am sensitive to others’ feelings. In my early 20s, I stumbled upon psychotherapy and hypnotherapy to resolve my own issues, which resulted in a big change of my mindset and quality of life. After that, I began to experiment with different types of therapies and studied various psychotherapy models and courses. After I embarked on this self-discovery journey, I found my new directions and would like to embrace my passion to help others finding happiness by being a therapist.
Among different types of talking therapy I have tried, I had great results with hypnotherapy and decided to learn more about this. I studied at Regent’s University and National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (NCHP). NCHP is accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the European Association for Psychotherapy, and the European Association for Hypno-Psychotherapy. I am qualified as a hypnotherapist and hypno-psychotherapist, and registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, which is recommended by NHS for finding qualified hypnotherapists.
I work with various issues, and with specialist focus on pregnancy related mental health issues. I am qualified as postnatal and early parenting mental health practitioner, and I work with prenatal depression, postnatal depression, fertility related anxiety, childlessness, traumatic birth experience, miscarriage and stillbirth. I also have extensive experience working with those with anxiety, phobias and OCD. I can empathise with how isolating and disabling anxiety and related issues can be for those suffer from them, and how difficult for other people to understand or help. I endeavour to provide a safe and understanding space for my clients to work with their issues. If you are interested to know what are the other areas that I work with, please see Services page for more details.
